Pitched Roofing

Slating and tiling has always been the backbone of our business and remains our main focus today.

We specialise in refurbishment, particularly of heritage properties, but we are also experts in new build work, covering numerous sectors, including retail, education, healthcare and industrial buildings.

Thanks to the size of our workforce, we have a dedicated maintenance team focusing on minor works, whilst we are experienced and equipped to handle largescale projects, valued at upwards of £1 million.

Slating

Although methods and materials change with time, there is still huge demand for natural slate products, due to the longevity and aesthetic qualities of the materials.

We are specialists in the application of natural slate, working regularly with Welsh, Canadian, Spanish and Burlington/Westmorland products, as well as manmade fibre cement and resin.

Many of our tradesmen were trained by and served their apprenticeships with us and through continuous training, we have developed a team of skilled craftsmen, who are adept at working with these natural materials and understand how to extract the best from their unique characteristics.

Our location near the Peak District means we have vast experience of working with Yorkshire and Derbyshire stone. We also use a lot of Burlington and Westmorland slate, quarried in the Lake District. As a result, our operatives are well versed in the installation of these and other randomly sized slates and we have developed an extensive client list, including many heritage agencies, such as the National Trust and English Heritage.

In addition, we are keen to stay abreast of new materials and install many thousands of metres of manmade slates on both commercial and domestic properties, across the UK.

Tiling

Tiles are an economical alternative to slate for covering traditional pitched roofs.

They are generally made from concrete or clay and are popular, due to their cost-effective nature.

Clay tiles can be a slightly more expensive option, but offer a wonderful finish and in most cases, a longer lifespan their concrete counterparts.
